Well, I decided to start my quest for a closet with great clothes that I don't have to stare at and wonder why the heck did I buy that and I will never wear that again (probably because I have grown out of it!) and I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!!!! I thought I will look for one item of clothing per shopping day.
I decided to look for the most important staple, THE JEAN! Jeans are so important in my life. I wear them every day and when you are down to one favorite pair that doesn't sag (like dirty baby diapers), pinch or bind, I felt like it was time to get a new pair! I cheated! I started with the same brand as my favorite pair and OMG! I found one of the same brand, different style, but they fit even better!!!! They are just long enough, they don't slide down my waist to create the saggy butt (which causes me to constantly hike up my pants in an inelegant and un-classy way) and they are tight in the upper leg to below the knee! AHHHHH(musical note that the funny girl sings in the Progressive Insurance Commercial- she is so cute!). They were mid-rise, really mid-rise, not the teen version of a mid- rise that covers an extra third of your butt cheeks, but still doesn't cover the crack or the thong! This is perfect for me because being an "Apple" shape, it covers the muffin top just enough but not too high to where the muffin top is now under the waist band of your jeans and is now showing as a tire roll!!! That's the problem with "Mom" jeans, (well there are SOOOO many problem with "Mom" jeans) but they make you look like you are pregnant. The waistband is too high, the crotch is too baggy, the hips are like elephant ears and if they taper to the ankle, you got MC Hammer come back to life!!!! So, I don't want to depend on one brand and style, because what if they stop making that particular style. I am on a quest for us all , so I am going out again and try different brands and styles and I will report back my findings and hopefully a few more pair of jeans I can wear!!!!

Here we go........
Hi everyone or no one! I am a first time blogger and I want to try and help out all the women out there who are not the perfect shape and need help as I do! I want to find out which labels cater to the pear shaped ladies or apple shaped ladies or any shape ladies and make it easier to find great fashions to add to our closets without spending hours and hours in the stores!
I am so frustrated with life right now when I look in my closet. Family is excellent, so I have something great going on. No, it is the clothes situation (and weight) that comes with age. I know, I know, not everyone gets heavier as they get older! I have! I chalk it up to having a wonderful grandmother, who at not really 5' tall as she always said, was built like an apple with arms that would rival any NFL lineman's. Guess what, I inherited most of that (thank goodness I got a little taller than her) plus her love for food, excellent cooking skills (at least in my mind - butter is my very best friend!), being able to eat even when I am deathly sick, and a non-existent metabolism. GREAT! I have been fighting my weight all my life and now that I am older, I also have to fight gravity!!!!
Which brings me to my reason for blogging. I have heard so many ladies complain (me being the loudest) about not being able to find clothes that are comfortable, that fit right and are stylish. I am on a search for the necessary pieces in my wardrobe that all the experts (what makes them the expert of my world or yours?) say I need. A little black dress, a great pair of jeans, excellent fitting undergarments (well, I agree with them there!), a great suit with a skirt or pants, and a few good sweaters and tops (well maybe they are right about this). Seems easy enough........HA!!!!! All the clothes are created for perfect 20 somethings or people who are wafer thin and 6 feet tall (well, maybe 5'5" because I am 5'7" and all the jeans and pants hit at my ankle. What about us "normal" sized people who are not perfectly proportioned? I am going to start a search and blog about how things fit, if they will fit an apple shape, a pear shape or what ever shape you have and hopefully help out all ladies who don't have the time to find great clothes that fit properly and look great. Stay tuned and let me know what you all think!!!!!
